Specialty cross sections can be hot rolled into special steel shapes for use as deck rails on Sea Barge Heavy Lift ships which are designed to carry heavy cargo and are part of the National Defense Reserve Fleet. Containers fitted with small railroad type wheels are rolled on and off the ship’s deck via the hot rolled rails provided by McDonald Steel.
